Good Geek Times Ahead

It's a good time to be a geek. Video games are more common and socially acceptable. Films based on comic books and graphic novels are reaching the mainstream, with a budget, and some are even executed well. It's a golden age of cinematic geekdom, and here's what we have to look forward to in the near future:

Transformers:

Spider-man 3:

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer:

The Simpsons Movie:

Resident Evil: Extinction:

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix:

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End:

Underdog:

Day Watch:

And finally, while this last G.I. Joe trailer is fake, it's a well done depiction of what I'd love to see and in the current climate, such a film is not outside the realm of possibility:

The Baroness looked like Courtney Cox. Done right, that would be a great flick. Too bad it's fake :(

Question for MCF and the readership:
Heard anything about a live-action Thundercats movie? I seem to remember hearing or reading something about it recently as an aside somewhere... but can't remember where and haven't seen or heard anything about it elsewhere or in the usual geek haunts.
I'm off to check IMDB

Yeah, a great time for geekdom, but a sad time for those of us geeks who can't convince their better halves to go see some of these. The only two I know we'll see in the theatre will be Harry Potter (one she actually likes), and FF2 (having worked on a set, IN THAT TRAILER, actually helps).

Cheers.
