Blogroll Hero Logos 2

I must remember to add Todd Klein to my blogroll. He continues to study comic book logos, and has a great post on X-Men and related logos. I like seeing the classic techniques in typography. Before hitting a filter or choosing a font from a drop down menu, these guys just sat down with a pencil and paper and maybe a ruler, and sketched out several variations before arriving at the one they'd use. In the interest of time, I've continued a new school approach, and I've leapt right in with the computer for another set of comic book style logos of my fellow bloggers. As with last week, I've done another 5, with a sixth variation requested for one of the previous designs. As I said last time, I like to play and stay sharp, and I hope you all enjoy these:

Lifeslackers

Cube 47: The Blog

The Chronicles of Rhodester

SwanShadow Thinks Out Loud

Strange Culture

The Southern Conservative
(now with 100% more gun-toting monkey)

All of the above images may be clicked for a larger version. If all goes well, look for more of these in the future; I’m open to requests as well as critiques.

WHOA, cool! What a surprise! So I can use that if I want? Somewhere? I already saved it. Thanks for including me.

I thought the ones you did last time were good, but these ones seem even better.

As much as I love mine, the one you did for Cube47 and Swanshadow are AWESOME!!

As for requests, is there anyway to tie in some of my interests (eg. Transformers, music or videos) into the logo? Or something that matches my color scheme (Black sort of gold color)

As far as critiques go, personally I seem to prefer logos with images in them. You do a great job incorporating them into the type.

Guess that's it, keep up the great work. Look forward to see what you do next!

Dave, I'd be honored. Just credit me if you use it. :)

Lyndon, I'll take another look at it. There's a subtle TF influence on "LIFE", but maybe I can go more metallic, get a red or blue blend, incorporate circuitry, etc. Tune in next time for that, and possibly AOGB, Champaign, and more...

I keep telling people that, including myself, but no one ever believes me, including myself. :)

Dang, MCF, how in the name of all that's spiffy did I miss this? I must have been tweaking that day.

Thanks for including my humble corner of the Blogosphere in your exercise of genius. This is wicked cool! (And you'd better believe I'm going to snake it, and put it up first chance I get. With credit to the creator, of course.)

I wish I actually had a talent, instead of... well... whatever the dickens it is that I do. :)
