Looking forward to...

In my life, I often receive a lot of good advice from people I encounter. Mind you, I often don't listen for various reasons, to the everlasting frustration of friends and family, but I do recognize it. One of the things a former supervisor told me that stuck with me is that it's important to have things to look forward to, to keep sane. We all have things, whether they're landmarks such as weddings or births or smaller things like vacations or sporting events. Tonight I'm going to focus on some of the smaller things on the horizon in my life. Tonight, I'm going to touch upon a few things I'm looking forward to.

* * *

X-men 3 will be in theaters in May. I know this could be the epic conclusion to one of the best comic book trilogies of all time, or it could be a big disappointment. I’m keeping high hopes. Kelsey Grammar looks to be a fine choice for Beast, and I’m anxious to see how they’ll approach the Dark Phoenix saga.

* * *

Inglorious Bastards is a movie I just came across. All I know is that it’s set in World War II, stars Michael Madsen, and will be directed by QUENTIN TARANTINO. Based on that information alone, my curiosity is at the very least piqued.

* * *

Superman Returns to the big screen. Every year lately there have been at least two comic book movies, sometimes more, but at least one or two good ones. Will X3 be the good one? Will Superman? Will it be both? I’m looking forward to finding out.

* * *

I was planning to focus on 2006, but I can’t touch on comic book movies without mentioning Spider-man 3 in 2007, which seems SO far away. If X3 doesn’t round out a fine trilogy, the pressure is on that series, which thus far is the one that opened the door anew for the comic movie genre and set the standard for all that came after it.

* * *

Will the live-action Transformers EVER make it to the big screen? Will it really be directed by Michael Bay? Most importantly, will Peter Cullen and the incomparable Frank Welker supply voices I’ve been keeping an eye out for this since November of 2004, and I’ll continue to do so.

* * *

Lost returns with new episodes tomorrow night!

* * *

24 returns with new episodes Sunday and Monday: FOUR new hours! I was so excited I thought it was this past weekend, and told some coworkers as much. They weren’t so happy to see me Monday morning. January 15th. The correct date for the premiere is January 15th.

* * *

It will be a couple of months yet before new episodes of Alias and Prison Break air. Both series left off with winter cliffhangers, and Alias’ was particularly good.

* * *

Finally, I’m looking forward to the following DVD releases: The Flash, the last 2 seasons of Knight Rider, and Red Dwarf’s next release. Actually, Red Dwarf and The Flash both had releases today, but I didn't get a chance to pick them up. I guess I'm looking forward to tomorrow, then...

* * *

That’s what I’m looking forward to. What are you looking forward to?

I'm looking forward to reading something like this on your site:

When I moved into my own place, not far from my folks, so that I can keep up the great relationship I have with them, I met the most amazing woman, who has never had even a nose bleed, and who shares my passion for all things comic-related. Oh, and she wants to share my blog.....she'll be the one writing on even days.

I look forward to the little things all the time. Life wouldn't be nearly as much fun without them.:)
