PBW: "Would you like to see my mask?"

Photo Blog Wednesday:

Sorry ladies, but that isn't Cillian Murphy in the following photos. Still, dressed as his character from a recent film, as I moved through my company's costume party there were many curious looks, as girls wondered who I might be. It was a big improvement over the looks I usually get--or don't get.

Halloween--it's the most wonderful time of the year.

I thought you were dressed as what our company takes us all to be - a faceless, anonymous worker to be exploited and disgarded.

I guess it's good you never saw me without the mask then. ;-)

Dave, I scared people in my HOUSE. When I was making it, I went to look in the mirror after I'd sewn the basic shape, but before I put in eyeholes, a mouth, and stitching details. My cat, sitting on the sink, turns and sees me, gets this wide-eyed "WTF?!" look, and turns to run out the closed window. I watch him run in a counterclockwise circle up the wall, along the window sill and back down to the floor, clawing the wallpaper along the way, and then he ran out past me. I took the mask off and it took a lot of coaxing and "it's ok, it's just me" before he sniffed my outstretched hand and came out from under the couch, nervously looking around for the "bagman monster"

The lighting, shadows and grainy quality really add to these pictures though. There was one well-lit pic of me and my friend at the office party, and I just look like some fat schmuck with a sack on his head holding an apple cider that he can't drink. :)

Cillian Murphy was the scariest villain ever, and I have to admit, you looked sinister. I take it that was the point?

Man, I'm glad me in my Darth Vader costume didn't run into you in yours. Yikes! I'm scared.
