Phantasmic Links 4.21.08

Well, after my NY Comic Con adventures, I was pretty wiped out. Have you ever felt so tired that you couldn't sleep? I didn't have to be up for church until 9:30 on Sunday, but as of 7 I kept waking up every half hour. I had a pounding headache and was exhausted, but it was hard to fall back asleep each time I checked my cell phone in disappointment at how little time had passed. After mass, I pretty much took it easy; no way did I have another trip to the city in me. I watched a few movies, finished the sixth season of Stargate SG-1, processed 60 of the 90 photos I took the day before, and generally relaxed. Faster than acceptable, my weekend was over, with just enough time left to gather the week's PHANTASMIC LINKS :

(1) Myclofigia is getting closer to 300, thanks to loyal clicking citizens like YOU!

(2) Bracket Blogs is getting down to the wire! After a few ties in the second round, this third round sees six blogs facing off against one another. Which two will advance? Will those voting for themselves think carefully about the second vote and choose an opponent they might defeat? Strategy has never been more important as we approach the final showdown.

(3) Youngme/Nowme is a great project! People find and submit a childhood photo along with a new one in which they dress and pose the same. It's interesting to see how much and how little we change. Some are funny, some are scary, and some are depressing.

(4) See a man spend nearly two days trapped in an elevator in this nightmarish video. Read more about it here.

(5) Not only is Strong Bad getting a game on the Wii, but Limozeen recently gave a live performance. I wish I could succeed at internet with games and fake bands spinning out of a Flash cartoon.

(6) In a world where funny sketches are uploaded to the internet, one man endures his voiceover family.
Hat Tip: Rey.

(7) What do you all think of the G.I. Joe costumes from the upcoming movie? Some are dead-on while others look like something a talented fan would assemble for a convention. But, model shots like these don't give any indication of how they'll look in motion. I remain optimistic.

(8) Enjoy nearly Every Simpsons Couch Gag up to now, numbering well over 200. D'oh! I mean, whoo-hoo!
H.T.: B13

(9) Go to a galaxy far, far away...OLD SCHOOL: The Star Wars® Retrospective.
Hat Tip: Rey.

(10) You can also see the Wars® take to the streets in Star Wars® Urban Photography.

(11) Sean posted some great photos with optical illusions and hidden disturbing details. (Explicit language, some content)

(12) Pong-Out: Two classic games in one! How good are you at multi-tasking?

(13) Who is running on machine? Bear is running on machine; how can that be?!

(14) Can you help Grady the Robot find the missing pieces of his rocket, limited to carrying only three items at a time? You'll need some of those slots for wings, gears, and other upgrades or else you won't move very fast or far...

(15) Finally, See how Spongebob plays in China...

Have a link to a game, movie, article, or anything else you think might be “phantasmic”? E-mail me and it just might appear in an upcoming PHANTASMIC LINKS!
