The Blog Party Still Needs Heroes

He sits cloaked in darkness, an old friend. A furtive glance to the right gives him a peripheral view of his reflection in the dusty full-length mirror he's had since childhood. Alit by the electronic glow of his flatscreen monitor, his face is not his own. He is weary, old before his time. Those lines around his eyes advanced as insidiously as his hairline retreated. He thinks about how fast it all goes, and the rise of evil in the world. There is great darkness and suffering. Death. Disease. Crime. Natural disasters. Corruption. Gluttony. Monotony. He thinks of all the bad things he can think of, and then he thinks of more. Some have horrified him; others he's been guilty of himself. There's no simple line in real life separating the good from the bad. His own words come back to him from not long ago: ”We're all capable of great good, and great evil.” Are there real heroes out there? There must be a few, to have inspired so many fictional heroes. If ever heroes were needed, now is the time.

BLOG PARTY III will rise to the challenge Tuesday, April 12th. As many of you already know, here's how it goes:

1) The host establishes a date for the event and chooses a topic to blog about.

2) On that day, neighboring blogs may discuss the same topic from their point of view, linking to the host's post.

3) The host may design a logo to commemorate the event, which other participating sites may copy to their servers and display as a link to the host in their post as well.

4) Everyone comments on everyone else's posts, “mingling” with the guests. A good time is had by all.

5) The next day, the host posts links in an “afterparty” post, collecting everyone who commented and participated in one place.

Should my mutant bad luck cause comments to fail, I'm providing a hotmail address as backup: MCFSPU@hotmail.com My post will be up late Monday night, so Tuesday morning the other posts may start to assemble.

You're all invited to blog about the following topic next Tuesday:

Your top five heroes of all time, from Comics, Cartoons, Television, Film and MORE!

Heroes. Villains. It seems you can't have one without the other.

If you choose to participate, you're welcome to copy the image to your server and display it as a link. Spread the word! Let the call go out across the land, let heroes rise to the occasion. When the dust settles in this corner of the blogosphere, evil should KNOW that it's been in a fight. Godspeed, true blogrollers, Godspeed.

As with the past 2, I'll be here.
This one is more difficult... I'll have to actually think about this one...
