PBW: 3D Trumps No D

I fully admit that, as of this week, I've run out of Photo Blog Wednesday material, at least the shots I'd taken before my dad's January ordeal began. I've got some really spectacular, amazing, incredible, and uncanny subject matter planned for next week, but for now I'm going to adopt the same gimmick as a recent episode of Chuck(featuring a slightly typecast Dominic Monaghan), and I'm going 3D. That's right, dust off your old red and blue glasses, click the images below for larger sizes and, if all goes well, watch my photos pop out at you:

I had to wait until I got to work today because I have a set of glasses in my drawer (don't ask) and I have to say I am quite impressed. How easy, or hard, was it to make these? The tree is my favorite and the lounging cat is a close second.

Ridiculously easy; just a matter of displacing the red channel.

1) Start with an image on a layer(not background layer).

2) Command+1 to view the red channel

3) Select all and copy

4) Command + ~ to switch all channels back on.

5) Command + right arrow key to nudge...I went 5 taps over.

6) Command + 1 to view the red channel of the nudge image.

7) Command V to paste the original un-nudged red channel.

8) Command + ~ to view the new composite image with the replaced channel.

9) Command + left arrow to nudge the picture back to 0" on the x axis

10) Flatten and save as a JPG
